Candle Care & Questions
Each candle is made to feel like a room-changing ritual, not just a fragrance product. We focus on clean-burning wax, layered fragrance notes, and a slow, even burn so the scent develops beautifully from first light to the last hour.
The result is a candle that feels premium, personal, and easy to use every day — whether you are winding down, hosting, working, or setting the mood for your space.
Our candles are designed for up to 45 hours of burn time when cared for properly. For the best performance, let the wax melt evenly across the top during the first burn and avoid burning for too short or too long in one session.
A good burn window is usually 2–3 hours at a time. This helps prevent tunnelling and keeps the fragrance throw consistent.
Yes. This care guidance applies across all Essence & Elixir fragrances — floral, woody, fresh, gourmand, musky, spicy, or calming blends. Lighter scents are beautiful for bedrooms and reading corners, while deeper notes like oud, amber, coffee, spice, and woods work well in living spaces and evening routines.
For larger rooms, place the candle away from open windows or strong fans so the scent can spread properly.
Trim the wick to around 5 mm before each burn. A trimmed wick gives a cleaner flame, reduces soot, and helps the candle burn more evenly.
If the flame becomes too tall, flickers heavily, or gives off smoke, extinguish the candle, let it cool, trim the wick, and relight.
The first burn teaches the wax how far to melt. Let the top layer become fully liquid from edge to edge before blowing it out. This helps avoid tunnelling, where wax burns down the centre and leaves unused wax on the sides.
Think of the first burn as setting the memory of the candle.
Soy wax is loved for its smooth, steady burn and softer finish. It works beautifully for home fragrance because it holds scent well and burns slower when used correctly.
Natural waxes can sometimes show small surface changes after burning or cooling. This is normal and does not affect the scent or performance.
Yes — candles are one of the easiest gifts because they feel thoughtful without needing exact sizing or personal measurements. They work well for birthdays, housewarmings, self-care gifts, festive hampers, thank-you gifts, and corporate gifting.
If you are unsure which fragrance to choose, go for comforting, balanced notes rather than very intense notes.
Always burn your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface and keep it away from curtains, papers, pets, children, and strong drafts. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Stop using the candle when a small amount of wax remains at the bottom. This protects the vessel from overheating.
